On the morning of August 23, the 5600mm wide and heavy plate roughing mill memorial archway, jointly and independently developed by Chinese enterprises, was launched in Luoyang, Henan Province, marking that the world wide and heavy plate mill has entered the 5600mm era.
The two piece wide and heavy plate roughing mill memorial archway (also known as the rack) off the line is 16.32 meters high, 2.4 meters in diameter of the backup roll, and 11.63 meters in total length. It is the first time that China has adopted the super large wide and heavy plate mill of "domestic design+domestic manufacture", breaking the monopoly of foreign technology, and achieving a new breakthrough in equipment manufacturing in China's iron and steel industry.
After the completion of the unit, the annual production capacity of the production line can reach 2.6 million tons of sheet metal, and the width of the produced sheet metal products will reach the current extreme specifications, which can meet the steel demand for high-end sheet metal in marine engineering, shipbuilding, new energy, engineering machinery and other fields.
It is understood that the most critical and most difficult to manufacture in the production process of the rolling mill are the mill memorial archway and backup roll. One memorial archway is cast by the hydration casting process of 7 wraps of steel, which is currently the single casting with the largest amount of molten steel used in a single time in the world. Its various smelting and manufacturing technology parameters are at the world's leading level. The backup roll of this project is also the largest backup roll in the world at present.
The thick plate rolling mill is mainly used for producing thick plate products, which are the core raw materials of many national heavy machinery. They are widely used in industrial fields such as defense industry, ships and vessels, petroleum and chemical industry, equipment manufacturing, power, construction, railway and transportation, as well as infrastructure construction closely related to the national economy.
