When selecting an electric furnace, you should also consider the various functions of the system
As an important melting equipment in the casting workshop, the investment in induction furnace accounts for a considerable proportion of the total investment in the casting workshop. Therefore, the selection of the electric furnace system needs to make a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the safety, progressiveness, economy, adaptability to environmental protection and other functions of the selected electric furnace system in combination with the investment scale, technical progressiveness, management level and other backgrounds of the foundry workshop itself. There are several viewpoints for discussion:
1. Safety of the system
The complete mechanical protection function of the system should include the adoption of a closed cooling water circulation system, monitoring and alarm of cooling water temperature and flow rate, setting of emergency cooling water tanks and pipelines, safety measures for the hydraulic system (hose rupture protection measures, configuration of dual hydraulic pumps), and the robustness of the steel frame structure of the furnace. The complete electrical protection functions of the system include: fully functional and reliable fully digital control board and fault self diagnosis function, furnace lining detection (or leakage detection) function, reliable cooling measures for power supply (including capacitors, etc.), etc.
2. progressiveness of the system
it should match the advanced level of equipment and management level background of the whole foundry workshop. The use of a fully digital control system for the intermediate frequency power supply will greatly improve the stability and reliability of the electric furnace system, including the lifespan of the furnace lining and melting operations. In addition, the power sharing power supply system (commonly known as one driven two electric furnace system), the remote control system of power supply, the computer melting process automatic control management system of electric furnace, the old furnace lining quick release mechanism, the hammering pneumatic furnace builder with stable lining ramming quality, the automatic weighing system of molten iron, the automatic furnace drying control system of furnace lining and other advanced devices gradually accepted and adopted in the foundry industry in recent years have greatly improved the operation stability and reliability of the electric furnace system, reflected the progressiveness of the technology and management level of the foundry workshop, and also provided an effective means for the quality management system of casting production.
3. Economy of the system
The relationship between the higher one-time investment paid for selecting an advanced electric furnace system and the lower daily operation, maintenance costs, and productivity improvement of the system should be comprehensively and reasonably evaluated. This relationship can be evaluated from the following aspects:
a) Calculate the annual cost savings of the electric furnace based on advanced melting consumption indicators to evaluate the payback period for the investment price difference;
b) Evaluate the overall economic benefits based on the performance of advanced electric furnace systems, such as the increase in electric furnace productivity under the same power configuration caused by the high power/operational utilization coefficient of power sharing systems;
c) A comprehensive evaluation of investment in advanced and safe electric furnace systems from two aspects: reducing daily maintenance costs and improving equipment lifespan;
d) The economic feasibility is evaluated based on the adoption of advanced devices such as automatic furnace lining control system and hammer type pneumatic furnace building machine, which have improved the service life of the furnace lining and reduced various operational costs.
